7. Complete the AI-Led Screening Interview

  • Once you click Start, the AI interviewer will begin the session. You will see the live screening interface showing the AI agent speaking.
  • The AI agent will introduce itself and then ask you a series of pre-set screening questions for the role.
  • Wait for the “AI is speaking…” indicator to finish before you begin your response.
  • Speak clearly and at a natural, conversational pace — there is no need to rush.
  • The role title (e.g. “Data Engineer”) is shown at the top of the panel, and you can click “End” at any time if you need to stop.
  • You can also restart screening if you want after ending it.
  • Answer each question honestly and completely before the AI moves to the next one.
  • If a question is unclear, you may politely ask the AI to repeat or rephrase it.
  • You can complete the screening from any device with a browser and internet connection.

During the Screening — What TO Do

  • Speak confidently and clearly. The AI evaluates the clarity and content of your responses.
  • Be honest and authentic. Answer questions truthfully based on your real experience and skills.
  • Give structured answers. Use the STAR method where possible: Situation, Task, Action, Result.
  • Stay calm and focused. It’s normal to feel nervous — take a breath before each response.
  • Maintain good posture and eye contact by looking into the camera as you would in a real interview.
  • Complete the full session and answer all questions before closing.

During the Screening — What NOT to Do

  • Do not use a noisy environment. Background noise interferes with audio quality and affects your evaluation.
  • Do not read from scripts or notes. Scripted responses sound unnatural and may be flagged.
  • Do not interrupt the AI. Wait for it to finish each question before you begin responding.
  • Do not use multiple devices simultaneously. A second screen or device during the session is not permitted.
  • Do not abandon the session mid-way. An incomplete submission may not be reviewed. Contact support immediately if you encounter a technical issue.
  • Do not use earphones with music playing. Audio bleeding into your microphone will affect recording quality.

8. Assessment Completed

  • Once you have answered all screening questions, the Assessment Completed screen will appear.
  • A green tick icon confirms your responses have been saved successfully.
  • A notification may appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen: “Screening submission is taking longer than expected. You can close this page now; your responses have been saved.”
  • Click the “Close” button once you see this screen — your session is complete.
  • Do not refresh the page or click the back button at this stage.

9. Screening Submitted — You’re Done!

  • The final screen will confirm that your screening has been fully submitted to the hiring team.
  • The screen will display: “Thank you, [Your Name]. Your screening has been submitted successfully. You can close this page.”
  • This confirms the hiring team has received your completed screening.
  • You may now safely close the browser window.
  • The hiring team will review your results and contact you regarding next steps.
  • Allow adequate time for review — avoid sending multiple follow-up messages in quick succession.

Tips for a Successful Screening

  • Practice speaking aloud about your experience beforehand — even a few minutes makes a significant difference.
  • Research the company and role you applied for — the AI may ask role-specific questions.
  • Log in a few minutes early to complete your setup without rushing.
  • Keep a glass of water nearby to stay hydrated during the session.
  • Dress professionally — it helps you feel more confident and prepared.
  • Complete the screening as soon as possible after receiving the invitation, as the link is only valid for 7 days.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • Microphone not working: Go to browser settings and confirm microphone access is granted for the Round One AI website. Refresh and try again.
  • Page not loading: Clear your browser cache, disable extensions, and reload. If the issue persists, switch to Chrome or Edge.
  • Session disconnected unexpectedly: Reconnect immediately. In most cases your progress is saved. If you cannot resume, contact the hiring team with details of the issue.
  • Screening link expired: If your 7-day link has expired, contact the recruiter who sent the invitation to request a new link.
  • Pre-screening questions disqualified your application: If you were automatically declined at the eligibility stage, it means you did not meet the minimum criteria stated by the employer. You may apply for other roles you qualify for.
