Where a general AI assistant answers one-off requests, a recruiting agent is set up around a single vacancy: its requirements, screening questions and scoring criteria. Once live, it picks up each new application, assesses the CV, may run a short screening interview and places the candidate on a ranked list with notes. A team hiring for ten roles might run ten agents, each tuned to its own job.
Tying the agent to one role keeps its judgements specific, since the criteria for a delivery driver and a nurse have little in common. The quality of its output depends on the setup, so time spent agreeing must-have requirements with the hiring manager pays off. Recruiters should be able to see why each candidate sits where they do on the list and change the order at any point.
